Workshop: How to succeed as an Entrepreneur – and as an Enterprise business

How do high-achieving Entrepreneurs succeed, often with a background of social or educational disadvantage and in difficult trading conditions? What makes them different?

In ‘The Entrepreneur Process’ workshop, Rea-TMA Marketing has modelled successful entrepreneurs and identified the requirements for success. The findings are as relevant for established organisations who want accelerated growth as they are for individuals starting out in business.

In the workshop, delegates will find out:-

  1. Why Entrepreneurs succeed: the ‘Entrepreneur Process’: what it is, how it works

  2. Key steps in the process: how to shorten them and accelerate success

  3. Strategy: developing a process; essential practices; organisational structure

  4. Sales & Marketing Process: how to focus attention & resources where it counts

Some findings of the research are as follows:-

  1. Entrepreneurial success cannot be taught as a set of rules: If that were the case, there would be many more success stories. All markets and people are different: there are no set rules that can be applied across markets.

  2. You’d better be ready from the start: one in three new businesses fail in the first three years. If you’re starting out as an entrepreneur, or intending to move up to the next stage of growth and development, you’ll be competing with well-established businesses.

  3. Partnerships are five times more likely to succeed than going solo: but there are many kinds of partnership: the process of collaboration is critical to increase the resources, capacity and scope of the business.

  4. Experience is essential, but it’s not enough: Author Malcolm Gladwell writes of the ‘10,000 hour Rule’ – the time required to acquire the expertise necessary to succeed. But experience alone is not enough. The ability to apply this knowledge and then evaluate the results objectively – this is what matters.
